This is a very short description of the supposed effects of ecstasy and the rave environment printed in a regional medical journal. Acute effects, adverse effect and long term effects are described, though there are inaccuracies in descriptions of all 3 types of effect. The most glaring inaccuracies are found in the list of supposed "short term effects" that includes "blurred vision" and "muscle cramping" (more likely signs of adverse events than common side effects) and the list of supposed slang for ecstasy that includes terms usually used in reference to GHB and ketamine, but not entactogens. The piece refers concerned readers to specific drug abuse hotlines.
