MAPS: Another marijuana brain damage report (ATC 3/5/2002)?

Hey NPR!

If you admit that "proof is hard to come by" in marijuana research, then
why are you putting a spotlight on this inconclusive study?

I appreciate the focus on the quality of this evidence, and in particular
the statement that other factors can influence memory in heavy marijuana
users than marijuana itself. However, if you're going to show integrity by
allowing, heaven forbid, *science* to influence your reporting on this
topic, you might as well open Pandora's box all the way, and allow those
scientists studying marijuana's beneficial effects to inform the public.
Contact Ethan Russo at the Journal of Cannabis Therapeutics
(erusso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx), or Rick Doblin at the Multidisciplinary
Association for Psychedelic Studies (rickmaps@xxxxxxx). Be sure to include
a "token drug war scientist" in your report to balance their views.

The "drug war" is a stupid protectionist racket, designed to prevent
free-market competition from eroding profits from the official
CIA-sponsored drug-dealers who make the largest contributions to the
"Anti-drug" candidates (see www.copvcia.com -- how come you don't cover
that?). Please don't let my membership contributions be used for
propaganda pieces to perpetuate this failed, irresponsible, hypocritical,
destructive social policy.
