Re: MAPS: Re: The Dutch Lesson

Hello Michael, being a Dutch person myself, living happily in California, I
have noticed to my amazement, when visiting family and friends in Holland,
how uncool and passe even the use of marijuana is seen, let alone
psychedelics. I am talking about some friends from the provo time in
Amsterdam when we were studying psychology. They are still wonderful and
openminded practicing therapists and have no place for any of this at all.
Yeah, they know of Bastiaans work. When I asked an old friend, who was
definitely in the counter culture in the 70's if he still used mj, he
looked kind of shocked and said: "Oh no, we don't do this anymore!" He
looked at me as if I was slightly uncouth. So, my feeling (admittedly from
limited experience) is that yes the political and legal climate in Holland
is about tolerance and reason, the social stigma is in full swing.

To the forum: I would also be very interested to find out if psychedelic
therapy is still practiced in Holland...?

Andrea
