A somewhat similar experiment with a therapeutic dose has already been done
in Switzerland by Dr. Franz Vollenweider. MDMA-naive subjects were scanned,
given a single dose of MDMA in the 1.5 -1.7 mg/kg range, and then scanned
again. The data has not yet been published. However, Dr. Vollenweider wrote
to FDA on behalf of MAPS' MDMA/PTSD protocol application, and stated that his
research showed, "no significant changes in 5-HT transporter binding after a
single dose of MDMA (1.5-1.7 mg/kg)."
