Subject: Bwiti/Eboga Research in Gabon

Dear List,

I'll be traveling to Gabon in 2 weeks for four-months of field work on
the use of eboga under the auspices of the California Institute of
Integral Studies. My paper will compare eboga rituals with those of the
Native American and Ayahuasca churches. I plan to document the impact
these rituals are having on participants lives as well as explore some
of the deeper "mechanics" of the rituals themselves--i.e. what is
happening at an experiential level and how. My interest is in sacred
plant rituals as a means for psychophysical, social, and ecological
transformation. I would appreciate any input, advise, and especially
contacts in Gabon who might make my transition into that society a bit
easier and help me deepen my research. All are welcome to contact me
directly.

Thank You,

Larry Roussel
