Dear MAPS-Forum readers,
	Recently, I have been hearing about a new fad of taking 5-htp after
an MDMA trip. People have told me that it alleviates the various negative
effects of crashing after MDMA. They say that it brings them down very
smoothly to a nice afterglow that they can fall asleep from. I assume that
this would work as the 5-htp should replenish the 5-ht that was depleted by
the MDMA. Does anyone know if this would work well? If the toxicity of MDMA
is caused by there not being enough 5-ht near the serotonin neurons and
dopamine getting through because of it, would replenishing the 5-ht by
taking 5-htp as one was coming down from the MDMA reduce or remove the
toxicity?

Does anyone on the forum have any experience of 'pre-loading' with amino
acids before using MDMA?

I've read elsewhere that 5-HTP, an amino acid, can enhance the ecstasy
experience, and reduce the impact of comedown.

5-HTP itself seemed interesting, a kind of herbal Prozac.
