MAPS: Breastfeeding and drug use

Is there any research to speak of regarding breastfeeding and the use of
entheogens such as: LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, or marijuana?

Some prescription drugs are used with the requirement that the mother
"pump and dump" her milk while on medication. I wonder if this would be
true for marijuana, for instance, which is highly fat-soluble and could
conceivably be passed on. If the secondhand smoke is eliminated, and
there is no concern for parental negligence by making sure there's a
"designated parent" to take care of the child, the only concern a mother
should have is the actual chemical availability and effect on an infant.

Searches on the Web and breastfeeding sources, of course, simply contain
admonitions against "all street drugs", classifying LSD with heroin. And
the worst part is that a mother can't even ask her doctor questions
about this kind of thing without worrying about a call to Child
Protective Services in the USA.

Thanks for your help in this research,

Jeremy N
