Re: MAPS: OCD treatment
What is the objective? If it is to sucessfully treat OCD, the most potent
treatment is "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy". It has nothing to do with drugs,
but in a sense it is "alternative" as it is not the traditional psychodynamic
approach, but one which is heavily grounded in experiments and follow up
studies. Check it out - it has remakable results!
This IS the best treatment according to all studies I know of.
Check out the book: "Clinical handbook of psychological disorders" (1993)
Edited by David H Barlow.
For articles search on these names:
OCD: David S Riggs, Edna B Foa, Salkovskis, Adrian Wells.
Depression: Aron T Beck, Jeffrey E Young, Mark Williams, Adrian Wells.
Good Luck,
