Re: MAPS: Re: V2: MDMA Memory Study, December 1998
Quoted from the article:
"RESULTS: Greater use of MDMA (total milligrams per month) was associated with
greater impairment in immediate verbal memory (p < 0.02) and delayed visual
memory (p < 0.06). "
The p-level 0.06 is not, I repeate NOT, to be considered as a statistically
significant result! I am amazed! One should always set the alpha-level
("p") to
0.01 or 0.05. (Clark-Carter, 1997)
An important finding is the "impairment in immediate verbal memory (p <
0.02)".
When interpreting this result one should alsso have the effect size. Even so,
the design of the study could have been responsible for the result, and not
the
drug itself. (I would like to get the full article!).
