Has anyone any knowledge or experience of using drugs to aid lucid dreaming or dream induction (more intersting to me).  LSD is suggested as a drug that increases REM as long as you on't take too much (as this prevents sleep).

There has been some work done on the plant Calea zacatechichi [Compositae] and published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology (don't have the reference in front of me) that is supposedly a lucid-dream inducer.  I have been told by some users that it is effective to induce many short REM cycles ("catnaps") with vivid lucid quality.  Unfortunately at this time I cannot corroborate with my own experience.  Definitely worth pursuing, however.  Traditionally a tea is taken and a cigarette of the herb smoked just before bed.
