MAPS: psychedelic therapy participants wanted
Hello, my name is Kim Hewitt. I am writing a dissertation at the University of Texas at Austin about the cultural impact of research with psychedelics betwen 1945-1965. I have an article in the March issue of the MAPS bulletin detailing my project.
Initially I decided against a section on psychedelic therapy because it is such a huge topic and has been touched upon in other places. However, I have realized it is a crucial piece of the postwar atmosphere that led to later changes in therapy, spirituality, and attitudes toward the mind-body connection.
I am seeking to interview anyone who has been involved in psychedelic therapy at any time (not just 1945-1965). I am seeking to learn about a wide range of experiences: clients, therapists, professional or amateur, formal or informal, positive and negative experiences. Complete confidentiality is assured.
I feel this is a very important piece of cultural history, and am fairly confident it will get published. I would greatly appreciate hearing from you! If you are interested in participating or would like more information please email me off-list: khewitt@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
