Stan and Christina Grof to speak

Stanislav Grof, M.D., Ph.D., is a psychiatrist, one of the founders of the field of transpersonal psychology, and a pioneering researcher exploring the healing, heuristic, and evolutionary potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness. Grof is known for his early studies of LSD and its effects on the psyche and for helping found the field of psychedelic psychotherapy. When legal suppression made psychedelic exploration impossible, Stan and Christina Grof jointly developed Holotropic Breathwork, a method that makes it possible to induce and explore powerful non-ordinary states using breathing techniques, music, and focused bodywork in a supportive environment. They have trained hundreds of facilitators of this method worldwide.

Christina Grof, Ph.D.h.c., is the former vice-president of the International Transpersonal Association (ITA), president of Grof Transpersonal Training (GTT), and founder of the Spiritual Emergency Network (SEN). She has been active in the field of transpersonal psychology for more than 35 years, and has given lectures and workshops around the world on topics ranging from psychotherapy and transpersonal psychology to the role of spirituality in addiction and recovery, consequences of sexual abuse, and spiritual emergence.
