A Note from Albert Hofmann on his 101th Birthday

Dear Guests, Dear Friends,

After the beautiful celebration for my 100th birthday -- an overwhelming 3-day long international symposium -- I somehow expected a modest celebration in a private circle today for my 101th birthday.

Now the same good and true friends Dieter Hagenbach und Lucius Werthmueller, and from overseas Rick Doblin and associates surprise me with a more modest but nonetheless inventive event.

First of all, I hope that Dr. Peter Gasser's MAPS-sponsored LSD psychotherapy study for the critically ill will be discussed. It is enjoyable to me that for this project the necessary money comes from the USA (through the sales of prints signed by myself), and that the implementation of it will happen in Switzerland. Such studies with LSD support my conviction that my problem child finally become a wonder child.

During the past year there has been lots of positive news. For example my standard work LSD – My Problem Child has been published in Chinese. A further world wide resonance will be the upcoming broadcast of an excellent interview I gave to a Russian TV channel (NTV).

The present-day event is another step for the problem child, LSD, on its way to becoming a wonder child. So I would like to thank all parties hereto with all my heart.
